DESCRIPTION CAMAMOTEABLE SUPPORT FOR CAMERA
SECTOR OF THE TECHNIQUE
The present invention falls within the technical area of the supports for digital cameras and their methods of use. Specifically, the one that concerns the monopods that are used to make self-photographs. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The selfie monopod (also popularly known as selfie stick), is a device used to hold an image acquisition device. Unlike 10 tripods, the selfie monopod does not rest on the ground, but is held by the user's hand. Due to its length, the monopod allows the user to frame and focus with a digital camera or mobile phone at a distance greater than the normal arm limits.
The monopod is usually built with light metals, to provide it with robustness. They are usually extensible for easy transport, and they are usually marketed with a strap on one end of the wrist of the hand with which the monopod is attached, and an adjustable kneecap that keeps the image capture device fixed in the other extreme Some models have remote controls or Bluetooth, allowing the user to decide when to take the picture; and even models have been devised for digital cameras 20 that have a mirror behind the viewing screen to facilitate framing.
The first handheld monopod on record was designed and used in 1925 by Arnold Hogg. Since then numerous variants have been presented, among which the Spanish patent ES2546564 stands out.
The low cost and the ease of taking pictures of places and events that you want to remember has been made possible by the enormous popularity of this type of devices, favored by the evolution in performance of digital cameras and mobile phones, has made this product was included in the list that includes the 25 best inventions of 2014 published by Time magazine.
However, all these selfie monopods suffer from the same problem. 30
On the one hand, the support shaped so that it occupies a considerable space and weight. Telescopic and detachable models made of light metals (such as aluminum) or carbon fiber try to alleviate this disadvantage. However, given its frequent use in trips and excursions, it would be desirable that its size and weight were even smaller, to leave room in the backpacks and pockets for other tools of the 5 users.
On the other hand, monopods for self-photographs only partially solve the difficulty of holding the device (as does the tripod). The conditions in which the picture is taken do not improve.
The cameras of the mobile phones are not characterized by the high quality of their optics, 10 since both this and the sensors usually take advantage of reduced cost components that have many limitations due to the limited available space. Most modern mobile phone models have a camera with a high number of detectors, which are typically measured in megapixels, so the surface with which each of them can capture light is proportionally very small. fifteen
The combination of these factors, together with the fact that the exposure times are similar to those of photographs taken with traditional cameras, make the number of photons captured very low, so that in low light conditions the photographs They are very loud.
Finally, it should be noted that the use of selfie sticks is restricted and even 20 prohibited in many places where leisure activities are carried out or that have a tourist interest. For example, since 2015, in England, the use of these devices is prohibited in almost all of the football fields of the Premier League, as many fans complained that they were prevented from watching the game. Some football fields, such as the Emirates Stadium (home of the Arsenal Fútbol 25 Club), have regulations that prohibit any object that can be used as a weapon or may compromise public safety, in which it explicitly mentions selfie sticks. Other sporting events such as the Australian Open tennis tournament and the Tour Down Under cycling race in Australia have also banned fans from taking them. Even Disney has banned 30 theme parks from being introduced for security reasons, as is the case in some of the world's leading museums, such as the Smithsonian, the Palace of Versailles or the Roman Colosseum.
The applicant of the present invention is unaware of the existence of a background that satisfactorily solves both problems with the same solution.
The present invention proposes a solution that tries to solve both technical problems: both the discomfort of having to carry an additional device (with the weight and space required), and the low quality perceived in the photographs due to the difficulty of capturing photons With a very small opening and sensor size. With the additional advantage of not being subject to the veto that affects selfie sticks in sporting events, theme parks and museums.
Another of the key features of this invention is that the retractable camera holder has its own innovative lighting mechanism. The dispersion 10 of the generated light takes advantage of the characteristics of the element with which the support for the retractable camera is integrated, so that a much more natural and soft light is obtained than that of a standard flash. EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION
The retractable camera holder is integrated into any bottle. An element that every tourist or hiker carries with him, so that the increase in that volume to be carried is not significant. In addition, the amount of material required for its manufacture is significantly lower than that of a traditional monopod, due to its small size. What together with the variety of possible materials of common use with which it can be made, saves considerable costs among the ultralights themselves 20 made of carbon fiber.
By integrating into the bottle itself and hiding the fixing mechanism, it is possible to place the bottle with the support screwed in any place without danger of being caught or damaged other objects.
On the other hand, being independent of the bottle, it can be stored next to the 25-hand luggage at an airport, since at airport controls they usually have as a rule that travelers leave liquid containers (empty or not) before of entering the boarding area.
The retractable camera mount has two distinct parts.
The upper portion, preferably cylindrical in shape, is wider and has a fixing mechanism for the chamber, which can be hidden when it is not going to be used. In addition, it has a thread that fits and fits into the crown or hole of a bottle. From
mode that acts as a bottle cap and a camera holder simultaneously.
When a selfie is to be made with the present invention, the image acquisition system is held by the fixing mechanism and is placed above the bottle. So the set can be used as if it were a selfie stick, when extending the length of the arm when taking the picture, or resting the bottle on the floor as if it were a tripod. The weight of the liquid in the bottle keeps under the center of gravity of the set, and the width of the base of the bottle (normally circular) favors the stability of the device when the bottle is placed on the ground or on any flat surface to take a Photography. 10
The fixing mechanism can be a standard screw that is attached directly to the camera or to a ball joint that is attached to the camera. In the case of using a mobile phone, which lacks a hole for said screw, the fixing mechanism can be an extensible clip that surrounds the mobile without covering the camera, such as that protected by the US D739853 industrial design, or any other known mechanism to keep it 15 subject and in the desired position.
The lower part of the retractable camera holder is formed by an elongated and watertight tube into which a series of white light sources (or any other color) have been introduced that emit in the visible spectrum when a switch is pressed. The diameter of this elongated tube is smaller in its entire length than that of the hole in the bottle, and 20 is inserted inside the bottle when the upper part is screwed into the bottle. The generated light is dispersed in the liquid that contains the bottle, so that the whole acts as a diffuser that softens the light and the shadows it casts. This feature can be accentuated if the outer surface of the bottle is slightly rough. 25
The bottle may be composed of any material, even be opaque if it is not desired to make use of the light generated by the present invention. It is only necessary that you have a thread in the area of the hole and that the length of the neck and the body of the bottle is such that it can accommodate inside the lower part of the retractable camera mount. 30
It should be noted that the retractable camera holder does not hold on to the cap that initially accompanies the bottle, but is screwed into the bottle and replaces the original cap. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description, where illustrative and non-limiting nature has been represented. next: 5
Figure 1.- Shows an artistic representation of a top perspective view of the retractable camera holder in which the fixing mechanism (3) is partially folded, inclined with respect to its axis of rotation (4), in which the hole (5) in which it is hidden when it is not desired to place the camera (13) on the support. The upper part (1) is distinguished from the lower part (2). The thread, which fits 10 to the thread that is at the end of the neck of the bottle, is not visible in the drawing when it is inside the upper part (1). The lower part (2) is narrower, since it has to be introduced through the hole of the bottle, it contains most of the circuitry corresponding to the light sources (6), except for the switch (7) that activates them, and it is transparent at least in the area where the light sources are located. fifteen
Figure 2.- Shows an artistic representation of a top perspective view of the retractable camera holder, which has been placed and held in a bottle (9) by means of the thread (10) at the end of the neck. The upper part (1) replaces the original bottle cap and prevents the liquid inside it from escaping. The lower part (2) is inside the bottle (9) and in contact with the liquid (12) it contains. In this representation, the fixing mechanism (3) has been hidden in the recess (5), so that the screw (8) does not engage with other tools that the user can carry.
Figure 3.- Shows an artistic representation of a perspective side view in which a retractable fixing mechanism (3) is shown in detail, which rotates around an axis (4) and has a projection (11) that serves as a stop to prevent it from leaving its position in the hole (5) when it is not desired to use the screw (8) to hold a camera (13).
Figure 4.- Shows an artistic representation of a front view in a false perspective in which the retractable camera holder placed in a bottle (9), partially filled with liquid (12), holding a photographic camera (13) is observed. 30
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
A schematic representation of a particular embodiment of the invention is shown in Figure 1, in which the elements it comprises can be seen.
In the upper part of the upper portion (1), cylindrical in shape, is the retractable fastening mechanism (3) which is constituted by an asymmetric plate 5 that has a firmly anchored screw (8), when it is oriented towards above. The screw (8), as an anchoring system, corresponds to a thread of diameter of 0.25 inches, 20 threads per inch and a unified American thick passage, as described in DIN4503 (1993-10) and ISO standards 1222: 1987 (revised in 2003). This type of screw is typically used in commercial tripods to fit the 10 cameras to the shoe, and in this case the digital camera (13) with which you want to take pictures is screwed directly. In addition, with a simple adapter that increases the thickness of the assembly to 3/8 inch, standard ball joints can be attached.
The asymmetry of the retractable fixing mechanism (3) is given by the reinforcement on one of its sides, which coincides with the area in which a pin crosses it and makes the rotation of this piece possible; in addition, at the opposite end, a retractable projection (11) as a notch, fits into one of the sides of the hole in which it is housed when this piece (3) is hidden.
As already indicated, a single ball joint can be screwed onto the screw (8), with the help of the adapter that increases the thickness of the joint to 3/8 inch. The kneecap 20 increases the degrees of freedom to position the chamber (13), so that the desired inclination in the frame is chosen. Other devices can also be used, such as adapters for mobile phones, very popular in selfie monopods, which in many cases are also screwed in the type of thread described (8).
While the upper part (1) has a relatively large size, even in comparison with the original cap of the bottle as it must serve as a base for placing the chamber, it is seen in the figures that the lower part (2) of the retractable support for cameras it has a noticeably smaller diameter. The width is significantly smaller because it must be introduced through the hole of the bottle (9) along its entire length. 30
The lower part (2) houses inside the light sources (6) and a good part of the circuitry necessary for its operation. Since this part of the retractable support is submerged in the liquid (12) of the bottle (9), the elongated tube that
shape is sealed tightly, so that the liquid (12) cannot penetrate inside. In addition, it is physically and electrically connected to the upper part (1), because it contains the switch (7) that closes the electrical circuit. The electronic components are placed in a series of rooms that separate the battery housing and that of the light sources (6), whose walls in the second case are transparent to allow visible radiation to pass through.
The design of bottles with neck is very popular. Since the transmission of light in the neck area is less effective than in the body of the bottle, and the liquid (12) tends to remain in the lower part by gravity, in this preferred embodiment example has chosen to place the batteries in a compartment located 10 in the area closest to the upper portion (1), while the light sources (6) are located in the lower part.
In this preferred embodiment, the use of white high-brightness LEDs with built-in resistance (described in Spanish patent ES2560752) has been chosen to provide light in the visible spectrum that facilitates the taking of 15 photographs in conditions of Low ambient brightness.
The LEDs with built-in resistance would be placed in a compartment of transparent walls inside the tube and electrically connected to the batteries and the switch (7), through the junction described above. So that when the switch is pressed, the circuit is closed and the LEDs emit light through its encapsulation 20 which in turn passes through the transparent walls of the corresponding compartment and disperses through the liquid (12) of the bottle (9) if there is, until leaving it through the surface of the bottle (9).
Figure 4 shows in a schematic way how the chamber (13) is fixed in the retractable support when it is screwed into a conventional transparent bottle 25 (9). The weight of the liquid (12) keeps under the center of gravity, allowing photographs to be taken on flat surfaces as if it were a tripod. The larger the diameter of the bottle base and the volume of liquid (9) it contains, the more stable the arrangement of the assembly will be when placed on the ground.
Once the nature of the present invention has been sufficiently described, as well as an example of preferred embodiment, it only remains to be added that said invention may undergo certain variations in form, materials, parameters and restoration algorithms of
applicable image, as long as said alterations do not substantially vary the characteristics claimed below.
